Abstract:

Virtual Machines have given computer researchers and professionals incredible flexibility in deploying and managing computer systems and networks. Time multiplexing of physical computers, live migration, dynamic resource allocation and point in time data snapshots have contributed to the virtual machine.s recent surge in popularity. The use of virtual machines allows for great leverage in the exploitation of physical resources to accommodate diverse user communities and network design objectives.

In this presentation we describe our design and implementation of a department sized virtualization cluster. We will discuss the design decisions and benchmarking results of major subsystems. Additionally we will discuss any performance optimizations made
